About the Role

The Senior Estimator is a key member of our estimating team, responsible for providing accurate and detailed estimates for complex construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required estimate contents.
  • Provide complete conceptual and final estimating input on complex projects, including technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates.
  • Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to support estimate figures, and track awarded contracts as required.
  • Supervise and coordinate estimate support staff on larger projects, and assist with organizing, coordinating, and training of estimating personnel.
  • Advises Estimate Manager on cost and schedule fluctuations, improved material, or other factors affecting construction, and explores Value Engineering opportunities.
  • Reviews market labour and equipment rates, and completes post-bid analyses on jobs bid but not received.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Engineering degree, certificate, or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • 10-15 years of experience estimating within the construction industry, with a strong background in Water/Wastewater projects and contracts.
  • Must have experience working for a large General Contractor, with a proven track record of delivering accurate and detailed estimates.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with prior supervision experience required.
