Job Summary:

Hundseth Power Line Construction (HPL) is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for loading and delivering materials to job sites, operating a variety of hand and power tools and equipment, and performing basic equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and delivering materials to job sites.
  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools and equipment, including back hoe, trencher, skid steer, directional bore, and ploughCAT.
  • Performing basic equipment maintenance.
  • Following all safety procedures on the job site and reporting violations immediately to the foreman.
  • Performing groundwork, including digging trenches and site clearance.
  • Cleaning and preparing a job site.
  • Setting up markers, cones, and barricades and flagging vehicles to control traffic flow.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid 1A driver's license is mandatory.
  • Previous experience operating the following: backhoe, track hoe, trencher, directional bore, etc. would be an asset.
  • One or more years of experience in safely and effectively tying down equipment.
  • Ability to travel out of town during the week or on weekends as required.
  • Ability to lift heavy tools and equipment.
  • Strong situational awareness, especially when operating trucks and heavy-duty equipment.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • This position is considered a safety-sensitive position; all new hires will be required to complete a pre-access drug and alcohol screening.
