At OXFORD HOMES LTD., we are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to excavate and move earth, rock, and other materials. Your duties will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and cranes to excavate and move earth, rock, and other materials.
  • Reading blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Cleaning and lubricating equipment and refilling equipment tanks.
  • Measuring distance, volume, length, and weight.
  • Operating computer-controlled equipment.
  • Completing onboard and other logs.
  • Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment.
  • Preparing accident reports.
  • Securing special attachments to equipment.
  • Operating two-way radios and other communication equipment.
  • Performing minor repairs to equipment.
  • Operating hydraulic pumping systems.
Work Environment

As an Excavator Operator, you will work outdoors in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions. You will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces. You will also be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in heavy equipment operation.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to wear PPE at all times.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions.
