About the Role

The Community Ambassador will play a pivotal role in fostering a sense of community among residents by providing support and development opportunities. This is a part-time position, working mainly in the evenings and on weekends.

 

Key Responsibilities
  1. Community Development:
  2. Establish strong relationships with residents, ensuring they feel comfortable approaching you with concerns and ideas.
  3. Assist residents during transitions to the community.
  4. Moderate conflicts and disagreements with residents.
  5. Build trust and rapport with residents while maintaining confidentiality.
  6. Inform residents about their rights and responsibilities within the community.
  7. Organize regular social, recreational, and educational activities for residents.
  8. Refer students to college resources for health, counseling, academic, or personal concerns.
  9. Collaborate with others to develop and implement programs.
  10. Keep residents informed about community and campus events.
  1. Community Policies:
  2. Provide general supervision of resident conduct in the community.
  3. Promote an environment conducive to effective living for all residents.
  4. Be available for designated on-call hours, responding to behavioral issues and assisting residents with emergencies.
  5. Communicate policies and provide explanations to residents.
  6. Confront residents violating community policies and regulations, documenting incidents as required.
  7. Submit reports to the Property Manager within 24 hours of incidents threatening resident safety or violating community policies.
  8. Maintain resident confidentiality.
  1. Administrative Tasks:
  2. Assist with move-in check-ins on Move-In Day.
  3. Report and follow up on maintenance concerns.
  4. Complete weekly reports, incident reports, and communication logs as needed.
  5. Work at the front desk as scheduled.
  6. Perform other duties to ensure office efficiency.
  7. Assist with market surveys as needed.
  8. Collect deposits and fees associated with move-in.
  9. Audit lease and renewal files for key controls and bonus submissions to the Property Manager.
  1. Marketing Apartments:
  2. Assist prospective residents with online applications.
  3. Respond to internet leads, answer prospect calls, and conduct property tours.
  4. Contribute to optimizing occupancy while maximizing leased rent.
  5. Utilize established sales and marketing strategies to increase property traffic, maintain closing ratios, and achieve budgeted occupancy percentages.

 

Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A desire to help others and impact your community.
  • A strong customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to effectively solve problems and communicate information clearly and accurately.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Social Media Platforms.
  • Strong communication skills to assist prospective residents in finding their next home.
  • High energy to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.

 

Working Environment

Long periods of sitting, lifting up to 14 kg.

Office environment.

Extended exposure to light from computer screens.

Time-sensitive responsibilities requiring prioritization and time management.

Interaction with internal and external stakeholders responding to issues and solving problems.

Typically 35-44 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with weekends as required.

After-hours emergency response duties when scheduled.

Keep mobile phone charged and audible for after-hours calls if needed.

Make return confirmation phone calls to residents within 3 minutes.

Arrive at the property within 15-20 minutes when required.
