Job DescriptionThe Senior Construction Cost Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates of labour and material costs, as well as general expenses and overheads. They will also advise on tendering procedures, analyze tenders, and recommend awards. Additionally, they will set up cost monitoring and reporting systems, monitor and adjust contract expenditures, and prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs
- Advise on tendering procedures and recommend awards
- Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
- Monitor and adjust contract expenditures
- Maintain a directory of suppliers and trade contractors
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 2-3 years of experience in construction estimation
- Degree in construction engineering technology or a related field
- Membership in the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors
We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, RRSP matching, and paid time off.
Work Conditions and Physical CapabilitiesThis is a permanent full-time position with a 32-hour workweek. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
