Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

At Standard Truck & Crane Ltd., we are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across the country.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from our trucks, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Obtain Special Permits: Obtain any necessary special permits and documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
  • Operate Trucks: Operate straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of our vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed, ensuring that our vehicles are always in good working condition.
  • Pre-Trip Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure that all aspects of the vehicle are in good working order.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of all cargo, including tarping and securing loads as needed.
Requirements:
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a truck driver is an asset.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
