About the Role

The Laboratory Technologist will play a critical role in testing and troubleshooting high-level network issues in our laboratory. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with excellent troubleshooting skills and a passion for technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record, understand, identify, and interpret schematics, drawings, parts lists, nomenclatures, assembly processes, and quality control systems.
  • Create part numbers following company processes.
  • Assist in testing and troubleshooting high-level network issues in the laboratory.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as needed.
  • Design circuits for connection boxes and cables for specific test requirements, with assistance.
  • Build or modify connection boxes and cables as needed.
  • Coordinate with production installation for production builds.
  • Train junior engineers in debugging and testing product and system configurations.
  • Manage laboratory access requests.
  • Identify equipment and suppliers and submit purchase requests for laboratory and office equipment.
  • Manage the shipment and receipt of parts following company processes.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory.
  • Maintain laboratory configuration control.
  • Install and configure new equipment following installation and configuration procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree in engineering technology or equivalent.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in planning, organization, programming, and tracking.
  • Familiarity with electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Commitment to laboratory safety practices and compliance with regulatory directives.
  • Experience with collaborative platforms such as Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to adapt and integrate new technologies.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to work in a team.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision if necessary.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian security clearance and a positive controlled goods evaluation. Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
