Job Summary

The Commission Scolaire Central Quebec / Central Quebec School Board is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to fill the role of Secondary Supporting Teacher. As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital part in enriching the educational experience of students between 12 and 16 years old.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Educational Programs

Design and implement engaging educational programs that cater to the diverse needs of students, focusing on key disciplines and tailoring teaching methods to individual requirements.

Encourage a Secure Learning Environment

Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth, social development, and emotional well-being among students.

Monitor and Adjust Pedagogical Approach

Regularly assess student progress, adjust teaching methods as needed, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective educational experience.

Communicate with Parents and Staff

Keep parents informed of their children's progress, challenges, and achievements through regular updates and progress reports.

Contribute to School Life and Extra-Curricular Activities

Participate in the animation of school life, contribute to the development of extra-curricular activities, and collaborate with staff to provide a well-rounded educational experience.

Collaborate with Colleagues

Work closely with school staff to provide personalized support to students, share best practices, and contribute to a positive and productive school culture.

Coordinate Extra-Curricular Activities

Coordinate and supervise extra-curricular activities, work placements, and other enrichment programs to provide students with opportunities for growth and development.

Provide Mentoring and Support

Offer targeted academic support, mentoring, and guidance to students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Ensure Student Safety and Well-being

Supervise students, ensuring their safety and well-being, and take necessary actions to prevent and address any incidents or concerns.

Communicate Results and Progress

Communicate student progress, results, and achievements to principals, parents, and other stakeholders in accordance with established protocols.

Manage Absences and Participate in Professional Development

Manage student absences, participate in pedagogical meetings for professional development, and stay up-to-date with best practices in education.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for education, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A degree in education or a related field is required, and relevant experience working with students between 12 and 16 years old is an asset.
