About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Aide to join our team at Century Group. As a Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, toileting, dressing, and other activities of daily living.
  • Set, serve, and clear tables during meal periods, ensuring residents receive adequate nutrition according to individual care plans.
  • Assist residents to and from the dining area, ensuring safe and timely transportation.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Participate in social and activity programs, including daily exercise and excursions, to promote resident engagement and well-being.
  • Monitor and report any changes in resident behavior, physical state, or functional abilities to the nurse on duty.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of residents, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
  • Promote resident participation in social, spiritual, and recreational activities, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Ensure nursing equipment and supplies are used and stored safely and efficiently.
  • Report any unsafe or faulty equipment to the designated supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to facility policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Residential Care Aide Certificate from a reputable/ accredited school.
  • Minimum 2 years of residential care home experience.
  • Registration with the BC Care Aide Registry (proof required).
  • Food Safe Certificate.
  • Basic First Aid considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical and mental ability to carry out duties under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to organize work and prioritize tasks.
