About the Role

At BGIS, we are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out cleaning and maintenance tasks to meet client requirements, identifying and reporting any deficiencies to the Team Leader.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, wash and dust surfaces, empty litter and recycling containers, and perform other tasks as required.
  • Secure facilities after hours by locking doors, closing windows, and resetting security systems as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, and guidelines related to environmental, health, and safety, and fire protection.
  • Represent BGIS in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintain positive relations.
  • May be required to work shifts, work on-call/standby, and emergency call-out as required.
Requirements
  • High school education.
  • One year or less of experience in industrial/commercial facility cleaning operations.
  • Self-starter, willing to learn, able to work independently.
  • Team player.
  • Good verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Positive attitude toward all aspects of Environment, Health and Safety.
  • Knowledge of national and industry codes and standards such as WHMIS.
