Maintenance Technician

**Job description**

GFR Ingredients processes and manufactures premium, plant-based ingredients. We are currently seeking to hire a **Maintenance Technician **to join our team based in Barrhead, Alberta.

**Main Responsibilities will include (but not limited to)**:

- All aspects of the general maintenance of the facility; including electrical, construction and mechanical.
- Safety - ensure maintenance practices comply with Work Safe Alberta.
- Organize workload regarding maintenance schedules and regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
- Complete work in accordance with fire & building codes; GMP & SOP's.
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Participating in Preventative Maintenance as well as any other required duties requested of the Maintenance Team.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Hold a ticket in a related field, or currently enrolled in a millwright program (any year of apprenticeship will be considered).
- **Must** be Fluent in Writing, Reading and Speaking English.
- Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent Computer Skills; Maintenance Software, MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong Organizational and multi-tasking skills.

**Skill Requirements**
- Easily Handle and adapt to ever changing and stressful environments.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work efficiently within timelines and deadlines.
- Proven success as a team member and working in a team orientated environment.
- Food industry experience will be considered an asset.
- Class 4 Boiler ticket or willing to acquire will be considered an asset.

**Physical Requirements**
- Must be Physically Fit
- No Problems with lifting or carrying 50 lbs or more.
- Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors, taking stairs etc for 12-hour shifts.
- Must be willing and able to wear all PPE required for working in a Food Processing Facility.
- Work 12 Hour Shifts, on a 4 on 4 off Basis.
- Pay is related to the amount of Training, Tickets and Experience the applicant has.
- Must be willing to relocate to Barrhead.
