Overview

AtkinsRealis is a leading nuclear engineering group in Canada, providing a wide range of services to the industry. We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join our team.

About the Role

This position will involve providing technical oversight and management of engineering staff executing commercial and internal work packages. The successful candidate will have experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and be familiar with nuclear quality management systems such as CSA N286 and CSA N299.

Responsibilities

  • Approving technical documents prepared by the engineering team
  • Removing barriers that impact deliverables and finding optimal solutions
  • Ensuring work is conducted in accordance with applicable Engineering and Quality Assurance procedures
  • Fostering a positive team environment and building relationships with internal and external customers
  • Planning and executing work consistent with quality, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Forecasting resource demands for assigned work scope
  • Collaborating with clients and overseeing completion of engineering deliverables
  • Participating in change management and approving technical content of change control notices
  • Managing interfaces between engineering disciplines
  • Working with marketing and corporate groups to maintain client relationships

Requirements

  • Engineering degree in a core discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical)
  • Registered Professional Engineer in a Province of Canada
  • 10 years of design experience in a heavy industry project delivery environment
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering teams
  • Minimum 3 years of nuclear and/or CANDU technology experience
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary work with significant stakeholder interface requirements
  • Experience managing and/or performing work under nuclear quality management systems
  • Working knowledge of station modification procedures and nuclear codes and standards
  • Demonstrated business acumen and excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a nuclear facility licensed in Canada
  • Held nuclear station design/engineering qualifications
  • Working knowledge of the nuclear regulatory framework

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, we provide flexible benefits, an employee share ownership plan, and a defined contribution pension plan.
