Job Summary

As a Food Service Worker with Compass Canada, you will play a vital role in preparing, presenting, and serving meals to our customers. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will ensure that every meal meets our high standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present meals to our customers, ensuring the quality and presentation of the food.
  • Perform prep work, such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, to ensure the highest quality ingredients.
  • Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator, following safety standards.
  • Store food in designated areas, following wrapping, dating, food safety, and rotation procedures.
  • Set up items for purchase on a daily basis and perform general cleaning duties, removing trash and garbage to designated areas.
  • Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are available for our customers.
  • Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control.
  • Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner, following outlined steps of service.
  • Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to your supervisor.
  • Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with food safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, as required.
  • Previous food service experience, preferably in a healthcare, hotel, restaurant, or fast food setting, is considered an asset.
