Hatch is a global leader in engineering and project delivery, with a passion for creating a better world through positive change. We're seeking an Intermediate Tailings Geotechnical to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support engineers in geotechnical projects, including site investigations, dam foundation design, and slope stabilization.
  • Develop geotechnical investigation programs and support project engineers.
  • Participate in the preparation of geotechnical studies and engineering reports.
  • Assess slope stability under static and earthquake loadings.
  • Predict water table location in tailings storage facilities.
  • Support project teams in interrogating geotechnical models of tailings storage facilities.
  • Support project teams in addressing geotechnical issues such as settlements, liquefaction potential, and slope stabilization.
  • Support field operations through supervision and monitoring of boreholes, in situ tests, and construction work.
  • Conduct limit equilibrium analyses under various loading conditions.
  • Support project teams in developing deformation analyses under static and earthquake loadings.
  • Support intermediate and senior engineers in data analysis and report preparation.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or post-graduate degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, or Mining Engineering from an accredited University.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Construction/field experience is a bonus.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is preferred.
  • Works well in an international team with a strong client focus.
  • Proficient in GeoStudio package and Excel. Knowledge of Python or Visual Basic is a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Valid passport and driver's license.
