About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Kitchen Assistant at Fancy Fork Café & Bistro. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items to a high standard.
    • Portion and wrap foods for service.
    • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
    • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
    • Scour pots and pans.
  • Inventory and Supply Management
    • Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
    • Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
  • Customer Service
    • Take customers' orders.
    • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues in a professional manner.
Work Environment

As a Kitchen Assistant at Fancy Fork Café & Bistro, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on providing excellent customer service. You will be required to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

Requirements
  • Availability
    • Be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
  • Physical Demands
    • Be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
  • Education and Experience
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
    • Previous experience in a food service environment is an asset.
