RDJ Bakeries Ltd., a renowned food manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.

Job Purpose

The Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety programs to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Recommend corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risks.
  • Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions for employees and management.
  • Develop training materials and maintain training records.
  • Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and near-misses.
  • Prepare detailed reports on incidents and recommend preventive measures.
  • Track and analyze safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain safety records and documentation as required by law.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience with safety programs such as Lockout Tagout (LOTO), hazard communication, and emergency response.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct training and presentations effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Working Conditions
  • Work indoors in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional travel to different company locations may be required.
Physical Requirements
  • Sitting involved.
  • May repeat the same movement.
  • Typing involved.
