Forklift Operator Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Operator to join our team at TC Transcontinental. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts, as well as other material handling equipment, to ensure the smooth flow of goods and materials within our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pick and process orders with accuracy and efficiency
  • Unload, sort, and distribute incoming shipments, verifying against Bill of Lading
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, recording shortages and rejecting damaged goods
  • Route received goods to their final destination
  • Communicate with all departments regarding goods received and address any non-conformances
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory and shipments
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner, adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Comply with all applicable legislation and regulations
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a warehousing environment
  • Valid forklift operation certificate in good standing
  • Order Picker Certification
  • Computer literacy, including working skills of PC-based software applications
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (max. 50 lbs), walk, and stand for long periods of time
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Exceptional attention to detail and good command of the English language
  • Proven organizational skills with a commitment to quality and safety
  • Able to work well in a team environment
