Forklift Operator (Order Picker)

Location: Richmond Hill, ON
Shift: 8:00am-4:00pm Monday to Friday

The Forklift Operator will report directly to the Fulfilment and Logistics Manager and will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. This role is essential for maintaining accuracy and efficiency across various departments that rely on the Receiver's operations.

Key Responsibilities Efficiently pick products based on daily orders. Unload, categorize, and distribute incoming shipments while verifying against shipping documents. Inspect and confirm incoming goods against invoices or other records, noting any shortages and rejecting damaged items. Direct received goods to their designated locations. Communicate with all relevant departments regarding received goods and address any discrepancies. Maintain accurate manual or computerized record-keeping systems. Ensure secure and precise loading and unloading of deliveries. Understand safe storage and handling procedures for materials. Provide excellent service to vendors and both internal and external customers. Conduct quality audits of incoming items before finalizing acceptance. Report any discrepancies to the immediate supervisor. Resolve issues related to missing documents and deliveries. Keep the work area organized and compliant with safety regulations. Operate all equipment safely and effectively, including performing preventative maintenance. Adhere to applicable legislation regarding safe operation and transport of goods. As needed, train new or junior employees on safe and efficient work practices. Be adaptable to changes in location, shifts, duties, and responsibilities to support operational efficiency. Assist in developing work instructions and practices as required. Ensure a safe work environment, free from hazards and clutter. Be available for overtime to meet customer demands as necessary. Promote a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations and reporting any incidents or hazards. Required Qualifications A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a warehouse setting. Valid forklift operation certification in good standing, where required. Order Picker Certification is mandatory. Proficient in PC-based software applications such as Word, Excel, and Email. Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and endure long periods of walking and standing. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Strong attention to detail and proficient command of the English language for understanding and following instructions. Proven organizational skills with a focus on quality and safety. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
