Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Ontario Inc. as a permanent employee.

Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Educator will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and be able to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Storytelling and engaging children in activities
  • Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • Knowledge of licensing regulations
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
Requirements:
  • Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Basic security clearance
  • Criminal record check
  • Immunization records
  • Tuberculosis test
  • Vulnerable sector check
Work Environment:

The Early Childhood Educator will work in a child care centre with a team of experienced educators and support staff. The work environment is non-smoking and physically demanding.
