About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employee Experience Specialist to join our team at DeafBlind Ontario Services. As an Employee Experience Specialist, you will play a critical role in enhancing the overall employee experience, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, and promoting a culture of engagement and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Onboarding and Engagement
    • Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding plans to ensure new hires feel welcomed, equipped, and integrated into the company culture.
    • Collaborate with senior leaders and departments to design and deliver engaging training programs and workshops.
  • Culture and Engagement Initiatives
    • Design and implement employee recognition and reward programs to promote a culture of appreciation and gratitude.
    • Develop and lead employee engagement surveys to gather feedback and insights on employee experience and satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with the Communications Specialist to promote employee engagement and company news on social media platforms.
  • Employee Well-being and Support
    • Develop and implement programs and initiatives to promote employee health and wellness, work-life balance, and total well-being.
    • Provide support and resources to employees to help them manage stress, anxiety, and other work-related challenges.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration
    • Build and maintain strong partnerships with external organizations and stakeholders to enhance the organization's initiatives and programs.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and share best practices that support and enhance the employee experience.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Collect and analyze data on employee engagement and satisfaction to inform business decisions and improve employee experience.
    • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators and metrics.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A University degree or diploma in Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience in communications, human resources, or engagement capacity, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to confidentially handle sensitive situations with tact, empathy, respect, and professionalism at all times.
  • Strong technical skills with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
  • Comfortable with technology and knowledge of online training or learning platforms (e.g. Brightspace).
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, and work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's license, access to reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel.
