About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our team at Homewood Health. As a key member of our mental health services team, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Initial Assessments and Evaluations: Conduct initial screening and/or initial mental health evaluation to identify client needs and develop effective treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with psychiatry, psychology, and other mental health specialty physicians to provide recommendations for work-focused treatment and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure Quality Documentation: Ensure therapists' documentation meets quality standards, adhering to business practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Client Recovery: Support the work of therapists by reinforcing client knowledge and skills learned through therapy and psychoeducation, particularly during and after treatment.
  • Liaise with Clients and Customers: Liaise with clients and customers to develop and implement return-to-work plans, educating them on strategies for managing health issues and disabilities.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Teams: Participate in interdisciplinary teams to review and develop work-focused treatment plans, ensuring a collaborative approach to client care.
  • Provide Work-Focused Treatment: Provide work-focused treatment, recovery-oriented support, culturally competent services, and follow treatment protocols to ensure optimal client outcomes.
  • Assume Responsibility for Client Care: Assume responsibility for the treatment, recovery process, and support of assigned clients within the context of the prime therapist and the larger team.
  • Adhere to Measurement-Based Care: Adhere to our measurement-based care model to monitor and evaluate client progress, seeking guidance to revise treatment/recovery plans as needed.
  • Provide Support and Consultation: Provide support and consultation to Treatment Coordinators, identifying and exploring treatment options, coaching for quality report preparation, and clarifying treatment direction.
  • Collaborate with External Practitioners: Collaborate with external practitioners, internal program providers, and corporate clients to ensure seamless service delivery and high-quality care.
  • Address Service Delivery Issues: Address issues in service delivery, recommending review of contracts with practitioners when necessary, and ensuring compliance with business practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Regular Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with practitioners, overseeing and reviewing their work procedures, and providing coaching, motivation, and redirection as needed.
  • Ensure Data Integrity: Ensure compliance, accuracy, and quality of clinical documentation, adhering to business practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Practitioners: Assist practitioners by providing advice on complex cases, ensuring data integrity, and adhering to business practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Review Quality Audit Reports: Review quality audit reports, correcting data and ensuring compliance with business practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to Business Rules: Adhere to business rules and meet service level agreements, ensuring seamless service delivery and high-quality care.
  • Conduct Peer Reviews: Conduct peer reviews as assigned, ensuring quality and consistency in client care.
  • Review Operational Reports: Review and/or respond to operational and other governance reports as assigned/requested, ensuring compliance with business practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Occasional On-Call Response: Be available for occasional on-call response and after-hours shifts, ensuring seamless service delivery and high-quality care.
Requirements
  • Masters' Degree in Clinical Fields: Hold a Masters' degree in clinical fields such as Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, and Rehabilitation.
  • Registration with Applicable Provincial Governing Body: Be registered with the applicable provincial governing body.
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the mental health or related field.
  • Experience in Supervisory Role: Experience in a supervisory role is an asset.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to work within an electronic case file environment.
  • Expertise in Clinical Best Practices: Have expertise in clinical best practices of the assessment and treatment of mental health and addictions.
  • Expertise in Disability Treatment: Have expertise in disability treatment and management principles, practices, and processes, including sustainable return to work, accommodation, and addressing workplace barriers.
  • Strong Interpersonal and Critical Thinking Skills: Possess strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
  • Collaborative Approach: Demonstrate a collaborative approach with external practitioners, internal program providers, and corporate clients.
  • Awareness of Measurement-Based Care: Be aware of the value of using measurement-based care when supporting patients/clients to help guide clinical decision making; experience an asset.
