The Facility Manager is a critical role at SECURE Energy, overseeing the safe and efficient daily operations of our facilities.
Overview:
We are a leading waste management and energy infrastructure company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Our extensive network spans across western Canada and North Dakota, including waste management facilities, industrial landfills, pipeline operations, metals and mining services, specialty chemicals, and energy infrastructure solutions.
Your Opportunity:
As a Facility Manager, you will play a key role in setting the culture and leading operators in a manner that prioritizes health, safety, and environmental responsibility, aligning with our corporate vision, mission, and values.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will have a strong technical knowledge of our facilities, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven track record of training, supervising, and coaching teams. You must also be able to monitor daily effectiveness and ensure compliance with company procedures and practices.
What's Expected:
- Operational Management: Oversee the efficient, safe, and compliant daily operations of waste management facilities, including collection, transportation, classifying and disposal, while optimizing resource utilization and minimizing waste.
- Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team, providing guidance, training, and ad-hoc support as needed to ensure effective and safe performance.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities, address inquiries and concerns promptly, and collaborate with sales and marketing to identify business expansion and retention opportunities.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, analyze financial performance to identify cost reduction and revenue enhancement opportunities, and ensure operations stay within budget while maximizing profitability.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance: Implement quality assurance programs, conduct regular inspections and audits for compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, and obtain necessary permits and licenses for waste management operations.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans, identify industry trends and opportunities, and collaborate with senior management on long-term growth and sustainability strategies.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years' experience in Waste Management Facilities, Industrial Landfills or Pipeline Operations
- Grade 12 or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid Class 5 Driver's license
- Valid industry safety tickets
- Strong attention to detail and ability to provide effective leadership and guidance to staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare technical reports
- Proficient with company applications and Microsoft Office Suite
