At Wood's Homes, we are committed to building good mental health and well-being in our community. Our Family Support Network program is seeking a dedicated Family Support Counsellor I to join our team.

About the Role

This full-time position reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for delivering high-quality family support services to children and families in care. The successful candidate will work closely with families, providing in-home support, school liaison, and community coordination as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete assessments and establish goals with families.
  • Advocate for families, supporting the development of a network of resources and teaching them how to advocate for themselves.
  • Provide parent skills training and individual/family counselling.
  • Ensure the safety of all family members by intervening in crisis situations and providing follow-up care.
  • Participate in weekly supervision, case reviews, clinical rounds, and team meetings to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Report workplace hazards and incidents to their direct supervisor.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in one of the Human Sciences, Childcare, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two to four years' experience working with infants, children, and/or adolescents, and families.
  • Experience in family and in-home support is preferred.
  • Case Management experience is also preferred.
  • A valid non-GDL class 5 driver's license and own transportation.

We offer a competitive salary range of $50,000 - $65,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience, plus benefits.
