About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Duke. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing marine electrical systems and propulsion solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop marine electrical systems and propulsion solutions using AutoCAD and other specialized software.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from concept to implementation, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall vessel designs.
  • Documentation: Prepare technical specifications, procedures, and reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in a design office or shipyard, with a strong background in marine electrical systems and propulsion.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Hold a Professional Engineers License to practice in British Columbia.
  • Skills and Competencies: Strong technical writing skills, high level of interpersonal skills, working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite, and ability to travel and conduct ship survey works.
