Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing technicians, technologists, and other engineers
  • Estimating material costs and preparing design specifications
  • Designing electrical and electronic systems and components
  • Supervising the installation and operation of systems
  • Developing maintenance standards for electrical systems
  • Investigating system failures
  • Preparing contract documents and evaluating tenders
  • Commissioning systems and components
  • Operating specialized test equipment for performance analysis
  • Installing and maintaining gas meters and regulators
Supervision

This position involves supervising a team of 3-4 individuals.

Certifications

Applicants must be eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) with a provincial or territorial association.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in the following technologies is required:

  • Business intelligence tools
  • SolidWorks and AutoCAD software
  • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Networking hardware
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems
  • MS Project and MS Windows
Systems and Equipment Experience

Experience with the following is preferred:

  • Compressors and electrical wiring devices
  • Gas compressors
