Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Direct Clinical Care: Offer individual and group therapy sessions to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices and standardized assessment tools to identify and address their unique needs.
  • Develop and Implement Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to create tailored treatment plans, incorporating their goals, strengths, and challenges.
  • Support Client Recovery: Foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment, empowering clients to take ownership of their recovery and make informed decisions about their care.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with healthcare professionals, social workers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
  • Stay Current with Best Practices: Engage in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest research, theories, and treatment approaches in addiction and mental health.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum two-year Community College or University Degree in a Health or Social Service Program, with an addiction concentration, or complemented by other recognized Addiction Studies. A minimum of one year experience in the field of addictions Withdrawal Management is required.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Current and demonstrated knowledge in fundamental concepts and theories of addiction and mental health, pharmacology relevant to withdrawal management, relapse prevention, harm reduction, and stages of change model. Proficiency in interviewing and counseling techniques, as well as experience with standardized admission and discharge tools for assessment.
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrated ability to work with people with substance use disorders in a supportive, non-judgmental manner, on both a one-on-one basis and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain successful working relationships and deal with people in a pleasant, professional, responsible, and reassuring manner.
