Salary Range

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $100,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.

Job Description

As an Environmental Planner with Parsons, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of sustainable infrastructure projects across Eastern Ontario and Halifax. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with senior planners to develop and implement EA projects, including Municipal Class EA and Transit Project Assessment Process;
  • Contributing to the evaluation of alternatives, impact assessment, and development of project consultation programs for various infrastructure projects;
  • Providing technical expertise on Environmental Assessments, including Ministry of Transportation Class EA Process and Canadian Impact Assessment Act;
  • Staying up-to-date with local, provincial, and federal environmental policies, legislation, and applicable law;
  • Supporting the mentorship of junior staff members and contributing to the growth and development of our team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A post-secondary education in planning, environmental science/studies, biology/ecology, geography, or a related field;
  • Working knowledge of Environmental Assessments and relevant policies;
  • Experience in the Ontario market, particularly in infrastructure projects (local/regional municipalities, MTO, Metrolinx, TTC);
  • Eligibility for a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) or Canadian Institute of Planners (MCIP) professional designation is considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting and approvals processes;
  • Strong technical writing skills;
  • Proficiency in French language is considered an asset.
