Salary: $85,000 per year

The hourly rate for this position is approximately $40.92 per hour based on a 40-hour workweek.

Job Description

As a Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular maintenance checks on heavy-duty equipment such as Taylor, Kalmar & Warehouse forklifts, Kenworth and Peterbilt chip trucks, IMCO Chip trailers, 966K loader, 980H loader, and 988H loader.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Utilizing diagnostic tools (ET) and technical manuals to pinpoint issues and develop effective repair solutions.
  • Performing routine inspections and replacing worn or damaged parts to prevent equipment failures and increase longevity.
  • Using welding and fabrication skills to repair or modify equipment components.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs made, and hours worked.
  • Providing detailed reports on the condition of equipment, maintenance performed, and recommendations for future actions.
  • Contacting vendors to provide parts quotes and lead times, communicating this with your supervisor.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Red Seal Certification
  • Experience with hydraulics and welding
  • Superior troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Knowledge of Cat, Kalmar and Taylor equipment would be an asset
