Job Summary:

The York Region District School Board is seeking a skilled Information Technology Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our technology operations team, you will be responsible for the repair, installation, and maintenance of our technology and information services.

To be successful in this role, you will require a 2-year post-secondary technical diploma, recognized industry certification, or an equivalent combination of training and experience working in the information technology field.

Significant experience in technology operations, including current Microsoft server and workstation operating systems, network design and components, and supporting a variety of technology devices, is essential.

Microsoft Certification (MCSE) is preferred. Windows-based software skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, and database management, are also required. A minimum of 3 years of recent experience is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer security measures on hardware, software, and network communications equipment.
  • Provide technology support services to new and existing users.
  • Collaborate with the technology team to maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality in working relationships with all school personnel, students, parents, contractors, suppliers, and the public.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Possess a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Completion of a 2-year post-secondary technical diploma or certification in a recognized computer/electronics program or equivalent combination of training and experience working in the information technology field.
  • Significant experience in diverse technology operations, including servers, network design and components, and a variety of technology devices.
