About the Role

Arup is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Advisory Services team as a Consultant. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advising and delivering innovative and transformative transport infrastructure projects in Canada and the US.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage client engagements providing strategic, economic, technical, and commercial advice related to the planning, development, funding/financing, and procurement of transport and major public infrastructure projects.
  • Work with public agencies and private sponsors to develop projects and programs from inception to start of construction.
  • Identify material risks & opportunities to project sponsors and present them in a way that enables our clients to understand the impact on their business plan.
  • Develop business cases, market assessments, or feasibility assessments for transport and major public infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare strategies, recommend optimal project delivery methods, and develop procurement processes for successful project delivery from early-stage planning through financial closing, construction, and operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, economics, or commerce. Preferred master's degree in business administration, project management and/or finance.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in the development of transportation or infrastructure projects, in particular in the rail/transit, highway, or aviation sectors.
  • Quantitative and analytical skills for cost-benefit analysis, economic impact analysis, and/or financial modelling.
  • Knowledge of the commercial and procurement aspects of public-private partnerships and project financing transactions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including effective communication through reports, correspondence, and presentations in English. Candidates with the ability to communicate effectively in French is an asset.
