About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Informatics Specialist to join our team at Joseph Brant Hospital. As a key member of our Information Technology department, you will play a vital role in supporting various clinical areas and implementing clinical applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, or evaluate health information technology applications and processes to assist healthcare providers.
  • Design, develop, select, test, implement, and evaluate informatics solutions.
  • Use informatics principles to resolve clinical or healthcare administrative problems.
  • Translate nursing practice information requirements between nurses and technical resources.
  • Provide front-line support to hospital information systems and related applications, facilitating educational training.
  • Assess customer needs, analyze workflows, identify gaps, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop or implement policies to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Informatics, Technical Services, and Data Management teams.
  • Apply project management skills to ensure project success.
  • Analyze application problems and recommend modifications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure effective system usage in accordance with organizational goals.
Requirements
  • University degree in Health Informatics or related field; Master's preferred, or minimum five years of clinical experience with certification in Clinical Informatics.
  • Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or equivalent allied health professional is an asset.
  • HIS knowledge and experience.
  • Minimum of three years working experience in a healthcare setting in clinical informatics or related discipline.
  • Knowledge and training in adult education is an asset.
  • Demonstrated project management and change management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
