Clinical Practice Director

Job Summary:
The Director of Clinical Practice is a key member of the St. Peter's Residence Leadership Team, working closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to provide clinical leadership to the nursing department. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure excellence in care for residents, developing clinical programs, and arranging external specialist consultations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership to the nursing department and work closely with the DON to develop and implement clinical programs.
- Collaborate with nursing, medical, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure excellence in care for residents.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external healthcare providers and community partners.
- Arrange for external specialist consultations and provide communication to hospitals and health providers as required.
- Research and promote innovative best practices to support knowledge acquisition and professional development within the nursing teams.
Requirements:
- Post-graduate degree in nursing, preferably at a Master's level.
- Current Nurse Practitioner Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in the Extended Class.
- Minimum of five years of experience in LTC, Community, or Primary Care setting.
- Previous experience working with seniors and/or people with disabilities within a 24/7 environment preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic documentation health records software and MS Office applications.
- Prior knowledge of the Ontario Health Care system, Retirement Homes Act, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act desirable.
