About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team at Houselink & Mainstay. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing community programs that promote social inclusion, support participant engagement, and foster a sense of belonging among tenants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research, plan, and implement individualized and group events, ensuring seamless execution and excellent participant experiences.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with tenant participants, identifying their needs and interests, and tailoring activities to meet these demands.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver high-quality programming, incorporating trauma-informed approaches and prioritizing participant well-being.
  • Manage program budgets, tracking expenses, and optimizing resources to achieve maximum impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of program attendance, participation, and outcomes, using data to inform future initiatives.
  • Foster partnerships with local agencies, organizations, and community groups, leveraging these connections to enhance programming and expand opportunities for tenant participants.
Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work or a related field, or equivalent experience in community development and program coordination.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience working in community-based settings, preferably with vulnerable populations such as those experiencing homelessness or mental health challenges.
  • Proven track record of successful program planning, implementation, and evaluation, with a focus on participant-centered approaches and outcomes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders, including tenants, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, requiring 35 hours of work per week, including weekends. You may be required to travel to other HLMS locations, and occasional evening or weekend work may be necessary. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are considered assets.

Salary

The salary for this position is $27.50 per hour, commensurate with experience.
