Maintenance Person Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Maintenance Person to join our team at Comfort Inn & Suites Kincardine. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel.

Responsibilities:
  • Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment for our guests.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse from our hotel.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers to prevent odors and pests.
  • Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings to maintain a clean and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
  • Perform minor repairs on appliances to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure the hotel is secure and safe for our guests.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access to the hotel.
Requirements:
  • High school graduation certificate.
  • Experience an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work with a team.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Initiative and ability to take on new challenges.
  • Organized and efficient interpersonal skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
