Nurse - Addiction Treatment Specialist

The Clinic Nurse is a key member of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with opiate dependency. As a compassionate and caring individual, you will work closely with patients and their families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities- Operate professionally, ethically, and with integrity within the guidelines and standards of the Ontario College of Nurses.
- Dispense and administer medications as delegated by a licensed physician.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
- Perform ECGs, venipuncture, urine drug screening, and other vital signs.
- Administer injections and ensure proper documentation.
- Communicate with physicians regarding patient needs and changes in status.
- Provide comprehensive program information to patients and prospective patients.
- Schedule, enter information, and manage data and documents.
- Completion of a Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Previous experience in addiction treatment or a similar field.
- Membership in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario.
- Yearly CNO Quality Assurance certification.
- Recent and acceptable Criminal Reference Check.
- Phlebotomy and ECG/EKG skills are an asset.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
- Strong commitment to working with individuals living with addiction and mental health.
- Ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients.
- Knowledge of Harm Reduction principles.
