We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at Maki Sushi & Noodle. This is a permanent, full-time position working 30-40 hours per week.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, training staff in food preparation and handling, ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining inventory and records, and cleaning kitchen areas.

Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, including sushi preparations.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling techniques.
  • Supply Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment inventory.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent attention to detail, be physically capable of handling heavy loads, and work well under pressure. You should also be dependable, flexible, organized, and a team player with strong time management skills.

Working Conditions

This is a physically demanding role that requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks. You must be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and maintain a high level of quality and productivity.

Benefits
