We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Ocean Front Village in Courtenay, BC. This temporary full-time position will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including vegetables, meats, sauces, and salads.
- Ensure the kitchen is operated in a clean, safe, and efficient manner, including following safe food handling procedures.
- Date and contain food to maintain stock rotation.
- Coordinate meal service and equipment usage with colleagues.
- Communicate with dishwashers and servers regarding cleanup.
- Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service.
- Complete required records, including equipment and food inventory, food and supply orders, and budget requirements.
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school.
- College program in cooking or several years of related experience.
- Red Seal Certification is an asset.
- Food Safe Certification.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector - Criminal Record Check.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Able to provide a negative TB screening and immunization record.
