Job Summary

The Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking a skilled Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist to join our Diagnostic Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing MRI examinations according to prescribed standards, producing high-quality images, and ensuring patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI examinations, following departmental protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Produce high-quality images, utilizing all protective safeguards and safety rules within the MR environment.
  • Document all appropriate information in the Radiology Information System.
  • Uphold all policies and procedures of the department and organization.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario in MRI.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in MRI safety.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • I.V. Certification and experience administering contrast media.
  • Excellent computer skills and good working knowledge of HIS, RIS, and PACS.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists.

Working Conditions

Able to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting over 60 lbs. and withstanding constant standing and/or walking.

Able to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Able to respect and maintain confidentiality.

Able to demonstrate regular/punctual attendance and a commitment to patient safety.

Language Requirements

Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French).
