About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Supervisor to join our team at BEECH NURSERY GROUP INC. As a key member of our horticultural team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursery and greenhouse facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire, Train, and Supervise Staff: Lead and manage a team of nursery and greenhouse workers, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest level of plant care and customer satisfaction.
  • Labour and Materials Planning: Develop and implement effective plans for labour and materials, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Work Records and Logs: Maintain accurate and detailed records of work activities, including plant inventory, sales, and customer interactions.
  • Contract Administration: Tender and administer contracts for materials, equipment, and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Material Requisition and Procurement: Source and procure high-quality materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and optimal pricing.
  • Problem-Solving and Technical Advice: Provide expert technical advice and guidance to staff and customers, resolving complex problems and improving productivity and product quality.
  • Nursery and Greenhouse Operations: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of nursery and greenhouse workers, ensuring efficient and effective plant care and maintenance.
  • Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement work schedules and procedures, ensuring optimal use of resources and minimizing downtime.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a focus on meeting customer demands and achieving business objectives.
  • Standing for Extended Periods: Stand for extended periods, with regular breaks to maintain physical and mental well-being.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a nursery or greenhouse setting.
  • Employment Type: Permanent position with a regular schedule of 32 hours per week.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication, with a strong emphasis on customer service and communication skills.
