Corporate Controller Job Description

Right Traffic, a leading company in the Traffic Control industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced CPA to oversee all financial and accounting operations as a Corporate Controller.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee internal and external financial reporting to various stakeholders, including financial statements and analysis.
  • Execute accounting activities, including daily transactions such as General Ledger, AP, AR, payroll, etc.
  • Manage monthly accounting processes, developing and communicating quality standards for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Assist with budget process development and variance tracking to ensure financial targets and operational goals are met.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Lead the integration of accounting functions post-acquisition, ensuring seamless financial operations.
  • Manage annual external audits.
  • Manage banking activities, including covenants and daily cash requirements.
  • Manage an annual work plan and track key reporting dates and requirements to ensure strict deadlines are met.
  • Provide financial and accounting standards expertise.
  • Work with operations to interpret their operational events from a financial perspective and flag potential issues.
  • Respond to questions and initiate actions to foster continuous improvement of financial processes.
  • Champion the use of resources and new technology to drive operational efficiencies and adoption of best practices.
  • Provide management and supervision to the accounting team, further developing a shared service format for the company.
Requirements:
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is a must.
  • Progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
  • Hands-on experience with financial reporting/GL, month-end close, and cash management.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities, leveraging sound attention to detail and strong organization skills.
  • Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes, systems, and controls.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in the organization.
  • Curiosity and an action-oriented mindset.
  • Experience working with PE firms would be a strong asset.
