Job Title: Executive Director

Volunteer Manitoba is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in achieving its mission and vision.

About the Role

The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and management of Volunteer Manitoba, ensuring the organization's continued growth and success. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong vision, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including volunteers, staff, board members, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the organization's strategic plan, ensuring alignment with its mission and vision.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the staff and volunteers, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the board of directors, community partners, and government agencies.
  • Develop and manage the organization's budget, ensuring financial sustainability and accountability.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of programs and services, ensuring they meet the needs of the community and align with the organization's mission and vision.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, meetings, and other events, promoting its mission and vision.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including those related to governance, finance, and human resources.
  • Collaborate with the board of directors to ensure effective governance and decision-making.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, ensuring the organization's financial sustainability.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders, ensuring a strong and sustainable funding base.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies, ensuring the organization's brand and reputation are promoted effectively.
  • Ensure the organization's website, social media, and other digital platforms are up-to-date and effective in promoting the organization's mission and vision.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive human resources strategy, ensuring the organization has the necessary skills and expertise to achieve its goals.
  • Ensure the organization's policies and procedures are up-to-date and effective in promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the board of directors to ensure effective governance and decision-making.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, non-profit management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a non-profit or charitable organization.
  • Proven track record of success in fundraising, marketing, and community engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and vision.
  • Strong financial management skills, with the ability to develop and manage budgets.
  • Ability to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Strong marketing and communications skills, with the ability to promote the organization's brand and reputation.
  • Ability to develop and implement human resources strategies, ensuring the organization has the necessary skills and expertise to achieve its goals.
