Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Truck Driver Groundskeeper to join our team at School District #41 (Burnaby). As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of personnel, materials, and equipment, as well as maintaining the district's grounds and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive district vehicles (Transit Cargo Van/Cube van) to pick up and deliver mail, supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including installation and maintenance of playground equipment and drainage lines, constructing retaining walls, moving furniture, mixing and laying concrete, repairing fences, shoveling snow, and digging ditches.
  • Operate a variety of grounds equipment and vehicles, including front-end loaders, backhoes, tractors, dump trucks, pick-up trucks, and crew cabs.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of vehicles and equipment, adhering to all safety procedures and protocols.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Two years related work experience or an equivalent combination of training and/or experience in truck driving.
  • Valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5).
  • Sound knowledge of vehicles, equipment, materials, and methods used in transportation and groundskeeping work.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures related to work performed.
