Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Private Banker to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Private Banking Unit, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with our clients, providing exceptional customer service, and delivering tailored financial solutions to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of client relationships, providing sound advice and administration of assigned accounts
  • Develop and implement strategies to deepen client relationships and expand existing business
  • Assist in client onboarding and recommending retail solutions
  • Participate in credit management of the unit's portfolio and manage a designated portfolio of less complex credits
  • Support the effective operation of the Private Banking Unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of Retail Bank products, systems, and services, as well as commercial and retail credit principles
  • Fluent in Mandarin is an asset
  • Good understanding of tax, estate, and financial planning, and investment vehicles
  • Ability to identify client needs and provide tailored recommendations
  • Customer-centricity and passion to make a significant impact on the lives of our customers and communities
  • Ability to engage comfortably with affluent and influential clientele in both a business and social context
  • University or community college degree
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to exceed customer expectations
  • Consultative customer engagement style with the ability to build trust
  • Ability to balance multiple and often conflicting priorities
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
