About the Role:

We are seeking an Associate Private Banker to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Private Banking Unit, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our clients, providing exceptional customer service, and delivering tailored solutions to meet their financial needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the effective management of client relationships and provide high-quality customer service
  • Develop a deep understanding of Bank products and services, as well as competitor offerings
  • Assist in client onboarding and recommend retail solutions
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client and prospect relationships
  • Participate in credit management of the unit's portfolio and manage a designated portfolio of less complex credits
  • Support the effective operation of the Private Banking Unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of Retail Bank products, systems, and services, as well as commercial and retail credit principles
  • Fluent in Mandarin is an asset
  • Good understanding of tax, estate, and financial planning, as well as investment vehicles
  • Ability to identify client needs and provide tailored recommendations
  • Customer-centricity and passion for making a significant impact on customers' lives
  • Ability to engage comfortably with affluent and influential clientele, demonstrating poise and professionalism
  • University or community college degree
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to exceed customers' expectations
  • Consultative customer engagement style with the ability to build trust
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work in a dynamic environment
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Financial planning proficiency standard in the province of work, unless working in Quebec
