Job Title: Sessional Instructor: Culture and Communication

OCAD University is seeking a qualified Sessional Instructor to teach Culture and Communication in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

About the Position

This is a temporary/contract position teaching a 0.5 credit course in the fall/winter 2024-25 terms. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and teaching-related responsibilities, including course outline development, studio preparation and delivery, grading, mid-term evaluations, and final evaluations/reviews.

Responsibilities
  • Teach and deliver lectures, critiques, and other course materials
  • Develop and implement course outlines and assessments
  • Grade student work and provide feedback
  • Meet academic and curricular requirements and deadlines
Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in art, design, or relevant discipline
  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment
Terms of Employment

Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Sessional compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6,871.00 (per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.
