Job Title: Sessional - Faculty - BIOL 4140
Department: Biological Sciences
We are seeking a biologist to deliver our course BIOL 4140 entitled "Evolution". The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Lecture/present advanced topics that cover an historical perspective on the philosophers, natural historians, and theorists that inspired Darwin's seminal work, eventually leading to the Modern Synthesis and our current understanding of evolutionary theory.
- Lead discussions in how experiments and theories led to major insights in evolution.
- Lead lectures that focus on micro- and macroevolution, sexual selection, the history of life on earth, and human evolution.
- Create, administer and grade quizzes and examinations throughout the semester.
- Provide feedback in relation to group presentations.
- Grade and provide feedback on student written submissions throughout the semester.
Qualifications: Candidates will have completed a PhD in Biology or a related discipline, along with demonstrated teaching experience at the university level.
Additional Information: Hiring for this position is subject to final budgetary approval.
