Financial Analyst Intern

At AltaLink, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Student to join our Security and Information Services (S&IS) Capital Project Delivery team. As a Summer Student, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in financial reporting and analysis, working closely with our experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports and information.
- Verify, monitor, and code project invoices for accuracy and reasonableness within AltaLink's financial system (SAP).
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information and undertaking analysis for review by S&IS leadership.
- Assist with the maintenance and accuracy of the 2024 SIS capital delivery project lists.
- Administration and performance of monthly controls.
- Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve financial work processes while effectively using AltaLink internal programs and systems.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1st year student, pursuing a degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance major is preferred).
- Experience in SAP considered an asset.
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Excel. Interest in PowerApps considered an asset.
- Excellent problem solving and teamwork skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills to interface with team members to promote positive outcomes.
- Proven track record of good attendance and performance.
