Job Summary

The Department Student Council President is a key advocate for students in their department, leading a committee responsible for planning and executing events tailored to their specific department. The President reports to the ASUS Academics Commissioner.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Advocate for the interests of students in their respective department
  2. Organize, promote, and execute academic and social events for the department
  3. Prepare for and attend every Arts and Science Faculty Board meeting
  4. Coordinate administration of USAT evaluations
  5. Submit a budget, strategic plan, and constitution to the Academics Commissioner
  6. Participate in DSC Assembly, held once a month
  7. Attend a monthly meeting with the Academics Commissioner or the Deputy Academics Commissioner
  8. Ensure compliance with all provisions in the DSC Charter
Requirements

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the HR Policy Manual, specifically Part 3: Hiring. This includes academic standing, work-study positions, exchange status, and other relevant factors.

Time Commitment

The 8-month term runs from September 1st to April 30th. If applicable, honorarium payouts will be made in accordance with the Human Resources Honoraria Policy Grid.
