The successful candidate will be working in various long-term and acute care facilities in the area, providing exceptional nursing care to residents.

Responsibilities
  • To deliver comprehensive nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and within the scope of practice of an RPN.
  • To utilize sound nursing principles to ensure the delivery of excellent care, meeting the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and social needs of residents.
  • To ensure timely and accessible admissions, transfers, and discharges, while maintaining safe resident mobility.
  • To maintain accurate records and follow protocols regarding the supply, control, and safekeeping of medications and narcotics.
Requirements
  • Active registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Able to work with persons with infectious diseases.
  • BLS Certificate.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR.
  • Proof of current immunizations for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (MMRV) and proof of negative TB skin test within one year as well as Hepatitis B.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work flexible shift times, including eight- or twelve-hour shifts.
  • Must be reliable in committing to assigned shifts and be available to 'float' between units as needed.
