Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns in the postpartum unit.

Job Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality, family-centered care to antepartum and postpartum patients, as well as newborns and their families.
  • Collaborating with an interprofessional healthcare team to utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Supporting patients in the parenting role through education and guidance.
  • Maintaining effective interpersonal relationships and communication skills.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma or certificate in practical nursing from an accredited program.
  • Active registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in postpartum/antepartum and newborn care is an asset. Current IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) Certification is also desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000-$80,000 per year, commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is also offered, including health and dental insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.

This role requires shift work and the ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
